Polyurethane Bushings
Make your car handle better than new with our polyurethane
suspension bushing kits from Prothane the industry leader in poly
bushings.
Jaguars are notorious for weak or deteriorating steering rack
bushings which leads to a vague steering feel and requires the driver to make
constant steering corrections in a turn. Replacing these rack bushings may
be the best $38 you have ever spent on your car. Furthermore, most
Prothane bushings are manufactured as 2 pieces with a tall shoulders to allow
them to be snapped into place by hand or with a small furniture clamp unlike
conventional bushings which require a press to install.
Production vehicles are built using rubber bushings in control
arms, strut arms, leaf springs, body mounts, motor mounts, transmission mounts,
sway bars and shocks. Additionally, rubber components can be found being
used on coil spring pads, leaf spring pads and suspension bump stops. Not
only are rubber components designed to be on the soft side to accommodate the
typical car buyer, they tend to deteriorate rapidly. This contributes to
premature component failure, a "spongy" ride, vague steering, rattles and clunks
and less than ideal performance handling. Urethane can correct these
conditions, and make your car more responsive than ever.

Frequently Asked Questions

| Are the heavy duty shocks designed for hard use or
made as an all around shock? |
| Bilstein heavy duty shocks are very suitable for both
on and off road use. They may be stiffer than your OEM shocks, but
should give you a better feeling of control and stability. |
|
| What is the main difference between the different
settings? |
| Comfort setting shocks would be very much like the
original shocks for your car. Heavy Duty will be somewhat stiffer and
give your car a stiffer and more controlled ride. Sport setting shocks
are 30% stiffer than Heavy Duty and are usually used with lowering
springs for very hard driving and competition. We recommend Heavy Duty
shocks for most applications. |

| Do you sell air shocks? |
| We are not currently selling any air shocks. |
|
| How do I find the part number for the Bilstein
shocks that came with my vehicle? |
| The part number should be stamped onto the body of the
shock. If a casual inspection doesn't turn it up, I'd give a dealer a
call and ask him what the OEM shocks are. |
Sway Bars (anti roll bars)

|
With a typical stock suspension, not only
will you experience body roll, but your vehicle will understeer and "plow"
through corners. With the simple addition of our performance Anti-Sway bars, you
will notice a drastic improvement in handling, substantially less body roll and
better balance.
Our kits offer larger diameter sway bars to replace the factory
units. These are a MUST HAVE for any XJS or XJ6, as the front bars were too
small, and the small rear bars were deleted altogether after 1980.
